Do you want to earn money online? So here is the deal: AMMA Magazine will pay you $1500 JMD for all accepted submissions. You don’t need to be an expert—you just need to have English equal to that of a native speaker, a sense of humor, and a love for art and the creative process.

Prerequisites

In order to create a successful submission, a few very basic requirements must be met.

  • The work must be written with perfect English. Your English level must be that of a native speaker to have a successful submission. This is the number one reason we reject submissions.
  • For articles, the subject matter may not be personal or unverifiable. If you can’t provide proof from reputable sources that what you are saying is true, we can’t accept your submission. Stories and poems and creative works can be personal.
  • The subject must not already be covered on AMMA Magazine’s site or publications.
  • We do not accept submissions that are copies or re-workings of previous articles or content found on other websites, including Youtube. A web search of AMMA Magazine for the items you are writing about will reveal any duplication, so make use of search engines when submitting.
  • The article must not be a translation of an existing page in a foreign language.

Images and Videos

  • You should not include images with your submission. Our editorial team will find appropriate images for your content. If you wish you can include links to suitable Youtube videos.

Adult Content

  • We do not accept articles of an illegal nature. We do not publish articles that promote or assist people in committing crimes. This includes poetry, stories and other creative work that heavily promote violence of any kind.
  • We also cater to children since it is our primary goal to also encourage them to pursue the arts. Therefore, strong sexual content is also rejected.

Plagiarism

  • We take plagiarism very seriously. If we discover any attempt to pass off the work of others as your own, you will be permanently blacklisted and all future submissions will be rejected. We double-check every submission for plagiarism.

Quantity of Submissions

  • There is no limit on the number of submissions per writer. However, we only accept 3 successful submissions per month.

Content Farming

  • AMMA Magazine only takes content submitted directly by the author. Content submitted by a middle-man or organization such as a content farm will be rejected and all future contributions by authors using these groups will be rejected. We do not engage the services of third parties to supply content. If you are contacted by someone offering to help you get published on AMMA Magazine for a fee, it is a scam.

Sources

  • For article submissions, sources are very important. You need to back up every
factual assertion with links to reputable websites—at least one source per assertion. Please avoid using tabloid websites or newspapers as your source and definitely stay away from Wikipedia.
  • Some sources are always off-limits: tabloid sites like HuffingtonPost, Buzzfeed, National Enquirer, Metro, Vox, The Verge, Examiner, and Salon. Sites like About.com, suite101.com, Medium, geocities, hubpages, angelfire, Ranker, Damninteresting are generally unreliable.
  • We are aiming for more reputable sources like news organizations (local or international) that people have heard of and would recognize—organizations that actually have a reputation to uphold and care about getting facts right. Scholarly journals, academic publications, peer-reviewed scientific studies are all good news. Google Books and newspapers are often reputable.
  • If you have a source that appears to be recycling someone else’s story, try to locate their primary source (reporter on the scene, interview with the person, the academic paper they are summarizing, etc).

Editorial Guidelines

  • The editorial team will rewrite small amounts of content if necessary but the less rewriting we need to do the more likely your submission will be purchased. Spelling mistakes and basic grammatical errors are usually cleared up if you do two revisions of your work before sending it in. If we see spelling (or basic grammar) errors in the first paragraph or title, we will usually reject the submission immediately.

Submissions

  • All accepted submissions are placed on the site by the end of the month. For the submission to be admitted in the current month, it has to be submitted by the 15th of that month. Anything after the 15th of the current month will be considered for the next month.
  • Only 3 submissions are accepted each month.
  • Articles and short stories should not exceed 1500 words.
  • All works should be submitted to [email protected] Please include your name or Alias you want included as the author and the bank account information to receive payment via wire transfer. You may also include a head shot if you want your picture displayed with your submission (a random avatar will be used otherwise). Picture should not be sexually suggestive, promote gang signs of any kind, must have a clean background (meaning it should also not be obvious if the picture is taken in your bathroom or bedroom), you should be clothed in the photo and should be not be a full body shot (just a headshot).
  • Payment for all accepted submissions is done the first week of the following month that the submission was accepted and published on the site.
